I'm proud

I'm proud of the response by our church to hurricane Katrina.  As usual, you guys have opened your hearts in incredible ways. Let me just list a few of the ways:

  1. You have given somewhere around $100,000 cash to date
  2. You have given truck loads of supplies
  3. You have volunteered
  4. Three middle school kids (and moms) had a bake sale and raised $1600
  5. A "40 Days of Community" small group had 5 simultaneous car washes that raised $13,000
  6. Tomorrow at 8:00am a convoy leaves Seacoast that will include: 2 semi-trucks full of supplies; 1 semi full of water; 1 dump truck with a $20,000 generator (both donated); 1 semi full of baby formula; 1 reverse osmosis water system; a team of people to unload it on the other end and do recon for our next step
  7. Children are making banners to put on the sides of the trailers and bringing donations for next weekend

The next supply drive will be next weekend during the services or you can drop donations off during the week at the Long Point Road "Katrina Tent".  Watch the web-site for more info.

I am proud to be your pastor!
